KARIBU - WELCOME
Children deserve to grow up in a world where they play, laugh, learn, and develop their own unique potentials. Sadly, many children in the slums of Nairobi spend their days searching for food and wondering whether they will eat that day instead of playing. They wander the streets instead of the aisles of classrooms because they can't afford school expenses and fees. They shiver in one room shacks because they are wearing the only clothes they own and those are threadbare.
Through sponsorship you can change that picture. Sponsorship is a tool of empowerment. It empowers the children to improve their opportunities through education, and it empowers you to make a difference in the world.
Galilee Primary School and Waddington High School are located in the Kayole-Soweto slum area of Nairobi, Kenya. Over 1000 students attend school on the campus. Many of these children are orphans, all live in extremely needy circumstances. Our mission is to create opportunities for children living in the slums of Nairobi to receive an education and improve their quality of life. We accomplish this through
- Child Sponsorship
- Special Projects to improve the educational environment and infrastructure of the schools
- Addressing the needs of improved health and nutrition to enhance the learning potential of students
- Providing adequate funding to support a stable and qualified teaching staff
If you are reading this, you are probably a caring, compassionate person like others in our group of Friends of Galilee. You love children and feel a burden to relieve the suffering so many of them endure in the impoverished areas of the world.
